Family FAQ

You Asked:

My daughter knows more about using the computer than I do. This makes me uncomfortable. How can I get up to speed?

The Online Family Answers:

Well, one step you can take is to ask your daughter for a tour of the family home computer. She can demonstrate how to attach a document or photo to an email. She can teach you how to post a message on a community bulletin board or in a chat room. If you're interested in learning how to use Instant Messaging software, she can get you started. And if the family vacation is coming up, ask your daughter to help with any research and planning that can be done on the Internet.

Another option is to take a computer training class. Check the latest educational offerings from the local library, community college or adult education center. After completing one or two inexpensive computer and Internet training classes, you'll be up to speed and ready to show your daughter a thing or two.
